This season, hips were a focus for Anne Valérie Hash, marking a decade with her Paris label. Pants and skirts had slanted double waistbands or swags of fabric pulled and knotted at one side. Diaphanous silk blouses, meanwhile, slid from the shoulders seductively: a spray of tassels sprouting from one flyaway sleeve, a crisp men’s cuff anchoring the other. All this slouchy, off-kilter business — plus splashes of folkloric embroidery — gave the collection an intriguing nonchalance. But the finishing and execution needed more finesse.
