For her second knitwear collection, Claudia Schiffer channeled a youthful Jane Birkin and imagined her ideal wardrobe for Ibiza, Paris and London. “She’s always been my inspiration, in a lot of ways, for the way I dress,” Schiffer said. “It feels effortless.” There were sheer crochet maxidresses designed to be worn barefoot over a bikini, and ribbed cashmere buttoned T-shirts Schiffer envisioned being worn with high-waisted jeans. Mindful that not everyone has Birkin’s boyish figure, she also included more loose-fitting options such as colorful sweaters and dresses made from a superlight blend of linen and silk, and more lightweight variations of her “boyfriend” sweatshirt dress — one of her bestsellers from last season.
