Neil Barrett built on his hybrid concept with a softer hand this season. Blurring the boundaries of men’s and women’s wear, the designer feminized the bomber jacket, using panels of colored linen and cotton, and splashed an oversize houndstooth print on a high-split silk dress for a mannish twist. The classic chino pant was among his major themes. He transformed the garment into a knee-length chino skirt, for instance, keeping all of the details, such as the creases and belt holes. A merch-friendly lineup, Barrett joked he has just become his own best client, having made a “huge” buy on the collection for the brand’s new e-commerce site — due to launch internationally in two weeks’ time.
