Hippies and soldiers might have been warring in “Hair,” but Sophie Albou reconciled the two camps in her Seventies-flavored collection for Paul & Joe. An ethnic-print skirt, slit to the crotch, was paired with a khaki shirt buttoned up to the collar in a play on contrasts. The military shirt also came in bronze leather, while khaki combat trousers were worn urban-hipster style with a gold and olive Lurex twinset. As a contemporary collection, this lineup was serviceable enough, but lacked the “wow” factor to make a compelling catwalk display.
