Martine Sitbon is on a roll. Following up on last season’s strong showing, she once again scored with a transporting collection that played to one of her beloved themes — the Ballets Russes — done with a modern attitude. She opened with graphic black and white ensembles worked with artsy lines of fringed silk, jagged appliqués and gently fanning diagonal pleats cut on the bias. Folksy dresses in Mediterranean colors inspired by peasant wear and caftans were divine, notably an indigo chiffon dress with hand-smocking details. A run of voluminous dresses in lightly waffled fabrics in soft shades of terra-cotta and blue had the grace of couture gowns.
