Marking her fifth season showing in Paris, Sacai’s Chisato Abe seems more at home, with a whiff of Parisian Bourgeoisie perfuming her wardrobe. However, Abe is not one for radical departures, and she clung to her signature hybrid ensembles pieced together from sections and details of trenches, knits, cotton shirts and lingerie. The designer added ruffled panels of shirting on an inky blue knit skirt suit to create a flirty peplum. Prim knit dresses turned to reveal sections of flirty lace-trimmed slips at the back, while a short-sleeve blue sweater hugged the front of a lovely green lace dress. The collection seemed a little less ethereal than usual, though it didn’t take away from the appeal.
