For his second season designing the contemporary line, Vaughan Alexander took things from party dresses into a more downtown, relaxed sensibility.

For his second season designing the New York-based contemporary line Silvio Liu, Vaughan Alexander took things from party dresses into a more downtown, relaxed sensibility. His collection, which he presented Thursday evening, was inspired by Peggy Guggenheim and her “rich global references in dressing,” he said. There were flirty dresses and a dyed yellow and salmon strapless mini, but it’s the short-sleeve crewneck cotton maxidress with pockets and black Swiss dot cotton shirtdress with drawstring waist that stood out.
