This season, Keita Maruyama seemed to draw inspiration from a wide range of sources, including flappers, disco, Playboy bunnies, flamenco and tropical beach holidays. Models with large feathers in their hair entered the runway under a massive mirror ball, and a female DJ wearing bunny ears spun lively music. Ruffled dresses and men’s shirts were covered in various prints, from an Asian garden scene to pineapples and large botanical motifs. Rhinestones, colorful sequins and metallic knits added sparkle, while classic skirt and pantsuits in white or blue made up a more serious offering. After showing a white sequin mermaid skirt complete with mesh tail, Maruyama ended the show with models dressed in pajama-like pieces bearing Playboy bunny prints.
