The highlights of this delicate, feminine collection were Zhang’s charming prints, which riffed on imagery from the Chinese designer’s home country. Miniature pagodas, boats, mahjong tiles, and birds were sprinkled onto prim silk dresses in duck egg or porcelain blue, some of which referenced cheongsams with their high collars and slits at the knee. The quirky motifs meant that even the more glamorous looks in the lineup — such as a black chiffon dress embellished with a Swarovski crystal bird print — had an appealingly youthful air.
