Brunello Cucinelli is now looking beyond luxe cashmeres with a growing array of warm-weather clothes and lightweight outerwear. For spring, pieces ranged from a matte gray python skin jacket to a blush pink coat made from feather-light grained lamb leather — the kind of look Cucinelli termed “ordinary yet extraordinary.” Likewise, a skirt in dusty berry was assembled from panels of silky napa leather that’s normally used to make gloves.

Cucinelli’s peplums had a soft edge, demonstrated with underlayers of tufted cotton fringe and sheer silk, giving his trademark sporty chic look a more feminine allure.

Cotton knits represent a growing portion of his business, and they came in a variety of painstaking fabrications, as in the textured slate gray sweater made from an assemblage of flowers knit from cotton tubes.
