Max and Lubov Azria channeled the femme fatale mystique of Helmut Newton’s photography for their spring lineup. This translated into a soft, fluid and elongated silhouette juxtaposed with bold harness pieces at the bodice for a graphic effect. Leather met lace in a range of looks including a pretty, dusty pink top paired with a matching leather skirt. Also adding structure to the lineup was a group of great loose canvas jackets and a men’s wear-inspired blazer. The palette remained neutral, featuring contrasts of soft pink, lavender and ivory with black. But it was the designers’ attention to detail that gave texture to the collection, i.e. the recurrent banded patchwork of lace, silk and prints on dresses and rompers along with bold corsetlike details on the bodice of tops and dresses.
