Sharon Wauchob has really hit her stride with Edun, this time offering a solid mix of sportswear pieces that were as interesting as they were wearable. There was a strong utilitarian flair throughout, from the sequined cargo pockets to the pretty camouflage prints. Lingerie elements, such as elastic bra straps and bustier details, softened the more masculine looks.
Backstage, founder Ali Hewson said that during this challenging market, retailers tend to love the pieces that have a great story, such as this season’s open-knit gilets made by the Crochet Sisters in Kenya. Personally, though, Hewson said she prefers the shiny stuff: “What girl doesn’t love the shiny bits?”
