Fresh off the opening of its first store in New York’s West Village, MM6 Maison Martin Margiela presented a lineup of easy, wearable pieces that hewed closely to the brand’s quirky minimalism. Fundamental to the collection is its ongoing “group of three” concept: pieces offered in three different silhouettes. This season, for example, a simple V-neck sweater was reworked by varying both its bulk and the ribbed borders at the waist, neck and wrists.

Military references and plays on volume were key; they looked best on a great khaki utility jacket and an oversize men’s wear-inspired suit. Other highlights included shorts and pants with inside-out pockets and an abstract navy-and-white print on shirts and trousers.
