Delivering one of her loveliest collections to date, Sophie Theallet showed a lineup marked by a notable lightness, ladylike polish and melange of gorgeous colors. Her woman, she said, “is one who dresses for herself. She wears what she wants no matter the occasion.” A short organza dress, she added, should be worn to the office or a cocktail party. And why not, with ones as charming and modern as these? Some were fitted at the bodice with full skirts, raw edges and exposed back zippers, while a dragonfly motif wove its way throughout the lineup, adding texture and mystique. Theallet’s skirts were deft layers of sheer organza over solid and printed linings, worn with sleeveless tops and delicate knits in lavender, teal and burnt orange.
