Tracy Reese is riding high these days, and for good reason. Pretty dresses in vibrant prints — like the one Michelle Obama wore for her Democratic National Convention speech — is what the designer does best. For spring, she showed the flirty frocks in a range of sunny hues inspired by David Hockney landscapes. Reese combined texture, patterns and embroideries in a relaxed, sportswear-driven collection that merged traditional African elements with romance. Her strongest looks included the tribal-beaded dresses, soft linen moto jackets, baggy leather trousers and bold embroidered shirts.
