Proud Brit though she is, Victoria Beckham has been a Los Angeles transplant for five years now. If her latest secondary collection, inspired by the southern California lifestyle, was any indication, Los Angeles suits Beckham just fine. “It’s really cool,” she said of the spring look before her show. “I want to be these girls and if I can’t be them, I want to hang out with them.” Less cute, more dynamic and sporty than the two previous outings, the collection’s laid-back attitude adjustment was obvious in the first two dresses out: a short, sleek shift with a hazy, purple palm tree and sun print, and a blue suede shift with punched trim around the sleeves. From there, Beckham tweaked the silhouette — nipping the waist, adjusting the length, working with safari details and a great blue-on-black bud print. There wasn’t a dud in the bunch.
