Victoria Bartlett drew inspiration from this summer’s Olympic Games and cited a contrast between restriction and exertion for VPL’s spring silhouettes. This translated into pieces that both hugged and draped, allowing a generous fluidity on dresses, skirts and jackets. Easy silk pleated pants were paired with boxy sequined tops, while sleeveless jackets were tailored in the front and cropped at the back with elastic waistbands to suggest more freedom of movement. Color-blocked bras and briefs, and maillots in abstract prints, looked great under billowing silk jackets, while sparks of neon added a sporty feel to earthy knits.
