T-shirt dresses were done in wave-shaped sheer panels around the midriff, while silk dresses in muted tones of navy and sand featured longer hems in the back that fluttered as models walked barefoot down the white-sand runway. Dresses and pants came with paper-bag waists, though the more exaggerated versions of this look — with peplums drooping over the front of sacklike skirts — were best left to the drawing board.
