Antonio Berardi set out to prove that he’s capable of more than “just cocktail dresses” to wear after dark. “I wanted it to be more urban and move away from that tight silhouette; relax it, give it ease and bring in more separates,” the designer said.
This new attitude yielded some great biker jackets, including one in pale pink leather with a foil-printed leopard pattern, which was worn with sheer white organza trousers and a matching top. Raglan sleeves on oversize jackets and tops added a sporty element, which counterbalanced intricate embellishment seen on pieces like the strapless blush pink silk jumpsuit.
The palette began with a peaches-and-cream mix, then segued into flashes of crimson, silver, black and white. The fabrics were beautiful, with lightweight cloques shot through with holographic lamé threads and embossed to give a reptilian effect.
