“It’s about a women getting ready at home.” That’s how Brazilian-born designer Barbara Casasola described her spring collection, which she brought back to London, where she’s based, after showing last season in Paris. The lineup featured a modern take on Fifties mid-length silhouettes with accents of Nineties minimalism for a look that ranged from sensual to strict, with tulle dresses layered over slipdresses and sharp pleated satin skirts in vibrant colorblocks. Casasola’s palette was inspired by makeup shades, which ranged from corals, magentas and dusty pinks to burgundy played against nude and black.
