Despite the butterflies printed on a fluid jumpsuit and embroidered on a chiffon minidress, Luisa Beccaria’s collection didn’t quite take flight.

Employing lace, macramé and plissé silk, the designer sent out a plethora of flowing maxidresses that lacked the romantic and slightly innocent spirit that put the brand on the fashion map.

Beccaria fared better when she reached beyond her comfort zone. Fetching looks included an A-line silk and lace summer coat with ample kimono-inspired sleeves, and a simple cropped top paired with a side-split column skirt.
