Uma Wang was inspired by the dramatic coastline of Galicia in northern Spain for her spring collection, which played out in a moody palette of sky colors.

The designer stayed true to her penchant for bold serenity with papery crinkled dresses that swathed the body in asymmetric folds. More fluid fabrics were used for long, sleeveless dresses such as an elegant silk version with a drawstring waist and a sweeping gown in marbled gray sheer chiffon.

Wang evoked organic textures with interesting textiles including one fabric that resembled a tree bark and a dégradé silk that brought to mind a sea-battered rock. A jumbo polka-dot pattern was embossed on inky black dresses, and recurred in a smudged print on a togalike crinkled ecru dress with raw edges.

The display exuded a poetic fragility and cemented Wang’s status as a rising talent.
