“La Regate” is what Catherine Malandrino had in mind for her spring collection that, much like the infamous yearly boat race in Saint-Tropez, featured a bit of the old classics and the new guard.

In terms of design, that meant touches of performance fabrics as seen in a fitted nylon Windbreaker, or classic cottons as demonstrated in a crisp eyelet shirtdress that echoed classic Malandrino. Within the wide range of silhouettes, the best contenders were the laser-cut leather skirts and dresses as well as a custom Eiffel Tower and wave print on matching shorts and a tie-front blouse, while the harem-style jumpsuits, dresses with cutout bodice designs and an intarsia-knit tunic sweater might not finish the race.
