As she walked through her presentation, Cynthia Rowley adjusted the lightly padded hem of a Hawaiian print dress, and then pointed out the embroidered sweat bands worn by several of the models, saying they reminded her of the fictional tennis prodigy Richie Tenenbaum. “It’s so important as a designer today to stay true to yourself, to create your own signature,” Rowley said. Her signature is a little bit pretty and a little bit sporty — a look she aptly demonstrated with a bevy of delightful ruffled dresses in ocean greens and sunset oranges, along with neoprene full skirts and leggings that came embroidered with thick yarn and paired with T-shirts printed with floral leis — aloha, spring.
