Flouncy miniskirts — a favorite silhouette of designer Jonathan Riss — set the tone for a showy and sexy Jay Ahr collection with lots of cutouts and see-through fabrics. Industrially treated mesh was the key fabric, which Riss used for chic varsity jackets, bulky T-shirts and a short-sleeved blazer.

The styling may have screamed disco, but broken apart, there were actually pieces as versatile as a pair of jeans.
