Wong’s extensive collection of cocktail dresses, sheaths and gowns bore the influence of the designer’s ongoing infatuation with Art Deco and old Hollywood.

Sue Wong’s extensive collection — 76 looks all priced under $1,000 — of cocktail dresses, sheaths and gossamer gowns made from flowing organza, chiffon and gauze bore the influence of the designer’s ongoing infatuation with Art Deco and old Hollywood. If not revolutionary, the lineup was consistent with Wong’s philosophy of democratic glamour.  “After being in this business forever, I understand that ultimately, all this beauty must make the cash registers ring or else it’s all for naught,” she said.
