After a one-year hiatus from the New York trade show calendar, UBM’s premier accessory event, Accessorie Circuit, is making a comeback during New York’s January and August women’s markets. The exhibition will have a new look and a more curated presence of elevated designer and fine jewelry, handbags, footwear, scarves, belts and gift items.
Peter Berta, director of sales at UBM Fashion, said, “After receiving overwhelming response from our accessory brands and retail attendees from our post-show surveys, it has been decided to bring Accessorie Circuit back to run concurrently with its sister show, Project Women’s NY [formerly Intermezzo Collections]. The industry spoke and we listened.” He said Accessorie Circuit will emphasize the unusual and artisanal end of the accessory spectrum. Brands such as Dean Davidson, Chan Luu, Evocateur, Laggo and Marlyn Schiff have signed on.
Project Women’s, which will be held in January, will feature exhibitors such as Velvet by Graham & Spencer, Drew, Parker/Parker Black, Amanda Uprichard and Misa Los Angeles. It will allow merchants the opportunity to finalize their spring 2019 buys, as well as offer access to immediates through summer ready-to-wear deliveries.
“Project Women’s collections will bring to life seasonal trends that you’ll see forecasted through the year and having it debut in January will mark a strong buying season for the retailer,” said Danielle Licata, women’s fashion director/vice president brand director Coterie. “Looking at B2C platforms, buyers are shopping for what their customers want to wear now, and we feel Project Women’s will assist in that effort.”
In addition to Accessorie Circuit and Project Women’s, the N.Y. Women’s shows, which will run Jan. 6-8 at the Jacobs K. Javits Center, also include Fame, Moda, Children’s Club and Accessories the Show, which features classic and trend-driven accessory brands and new and emerging designers.
