    Romy Blanga and Chiara Capitani went on a hiking trail with their new fine jewelry collection, showcasing their diamond and gold pieces against natural backdrops and technical gear. “It creates an interesting juxtaposition to the fine jewelry,” said the designers, who have taken the fine jewelry world by storm since launching Eéra two years ago, best known for its snap hook earrings and playful use of color. For fall, the design duo looked further into hardware-inspired pieces introducing key-shaped earrings and necklaces. They also introduced an interesting new range of gold anklets, earrings and necklaces that were set with diamonds and coated in their signature punch colors, with the coat being removable, offer customers more room for play and customization. — Natalie Theodosi

    London-based jewelry label Completedworks highlighted the beauty that can be found in mess and imperfection — an apt metaphor for life in lockdown — through jewels featuring interlocking strands of gold that resembled untangled wires. The messy but romantic structures were featured across statement cuff bracelets, delicate pendandants and pearl-embellished earrings. — Natalie Theodosi

    Launched in June 2020, Viltier is the 100% Fairmined and entirely Paris-produced brainchild of childhood friends Thomas Montier Leboucher and Iris de La Villardière, who lost touch at the cusp of their teenage years and reconnected when they were well grown up. In the meantime, both cut their teeth in fine jewelry – the former worked for Cartier and Fernando Jorges, and the latter at Marie-Hélène de Taillac et Stone Paris. Their radi-cool geometric designs feature precious and semi precious stones in geometric designs that have caught the eye of Irina Shayk, actress Mélanie Thierry and former French First Lady Carla Bruni. — Lily Templeton

    Inspired by childhood memories of dolphin frescos, discovered at the Minoan Palace during a family trip to Crete, Sophie Bille Brahe is launching her “Dolphin” jewelry range, featuring charming 18-karat gold rings and earrings that will become a new brand carryover style and be sold exclusively on the Danish label’s own website. — Natalie Theodosi

    French jewelry designer Aurélie Bidermann wanted to channel the spirit of the ‘70s in her fall “Les Jours Heureux” collection. She went for the kind of languid luxury immortalized in Slim Aarons snaps: Knotted fabric executed in gilded bronze for cuff bracelets; bakelite and metal figuring boat ropes for bangles; pastels for pretty geometric mother-of-pearl motifs and asymmetrical drop earrings; or a statuesque chunk of rock wrapped in golden metal ropes for the Mycene pendant, inspired by the legendary city of ancient Greece. — Lily Templeton

    Marina Raphael is looking forward to a more open, sociable world with new iterations of her signature Riviera tote — reimagined in a mini format that will allow her customer to enjoy their time outside the home “hands-free.”

    After making a succesful first foray into handbags last summer, Neous designer Vanissa Antonious is broadening her label’s offer with new styles including a shopping tote and belt bag, featuring the sleek, modernist lines Antonious is best known for. The mix of roomy totes and compact belt bags in the range was a reflection of Antonious’ predictions for the post-pandemic world: “We will all crave practicality by day but perhaps be dressing for a ’90s rave by night.     Italian bag label Medea has introduced a new, more structured tote style to its handbag family, dubbed the “Europa” and done using a sophisticated saffiano leather. To balance out the more traditional tote style, design-duo Camilla and Giulia Venturini added punchy, feel-good metallic colors that channelled the brand’s youtful, irreverent attitude. — Natalie Theodosi

    Manu Atelier introduced a series of new bag styles, in line with the more grown-up, sleek aesthetic the Istanbul-based label has been evolving into in the last year. One of the highlights was the ‘Manu’ bag, a chic shoulder bag that transcends seasonal trends and age.     In her work as a stylist and art director, Clémence Cahu came in contact with many an IT-bag, but she rarely found one that was hardy enough to follow her around the clock – and the world. That’s when she remembered one material she felt could withstand any amount of wear and tear: the PVC canvas that was used at her family’s bouncy castles factory. 

    With Cahu Paris, she offers a range of pared back, colorful tote bags made from PVC canvas – some of it upcycled from the children’s games – and manufactured with partners who are committed to socially responsible practices and empowering their local communities, in France and Morocco. — Lily Templeton

    Atomy is a new Polish brand which has been making waves in the sustainable accessory arena. It’s latest innovation? A vegan leather derived from apple peel skin, which has the same soft, premium feel of real leather. For fall, the label – which has been growing its direct-to-consumer business despite lockdown slow-down – has applied its apple peel leather skins to cool, modernist styles like neutral-hued totes or structured shoulder bags, pictured here. — Natalie Theodosi

    The Japan and Paris-based accessories brand Duren has developed a unique “crinkle leather” that gives its accessories their distinctive scrunched paper-bag look, which brought them a slew of design accolades, from the Good Design Award in Japan, the IF Design Award in Germany and A’Design Award in Italy. For the fall, they are exploring miniature sizes for their Bread Bag and Tote shapes, as well as a collaboration with Paris’ It-calligrapher Nicolas Ouchenir, which will be revealed in July. — Lily Templeton

    Brazilian footwear brand Melissa has continued its collaboration with Victor & Rolf. This season, they offered a series of lace-effect sandals and jelly tote bags, all in line with Victor & Rolf’s irreverent ‘Couture Rave’ spirit.     Christian Louboutin thinks fantasy is more important than ever these days, so he continued experimenting with the world of virtual reality and presented his fall 2021 range aboard the Loubi Airways — a virtual plane complete with glamorous hosts, red velvet seats and extra leg room. He dialled up the fantasy element when it came to his shoe designs, too, mishmashing color, pattern and inspirations. The Papagaya sandal, pictured here, was one of the most outstanding pieces inspired by the lights in Copenhagen’s landmark Tivoli gardens. — Natalie Theodosi

    Paris Texas went back to its roots for fall 2021: the Western boots that put the Italian label in the spotlight to begin with. Here they were elevated and reimagined with upbeat metallic colors and square toes — which are already receiving positive feedback at retail according to the brand. Its flair for all things glamourous and optimistic also translated into a new style of croc-embossed knee boots featuring fierce silver needle heels; pop-tinged platform sandals; as well as a pair of showstopping metallic blue knee-high boots made of vegan leather — a new material for the label. — Natalie Theodosi

    Pierre Hardy set a challenge for himself through lockdown to rethink industry notions and create a shoe range that is both stylish and as sustainable as it can be. Cue combat boots, sneakers and sporty kitten heels in the brand’s signature color-blocked palette featuring regenerated nylone, recycled soles and vegetable-tanned, metali-free leather for the in-soles. To “challenge the system” a bit further — and mark a new beginning — Hardy also created a new cube logo to mark the launch and will adopt a new, made-to-measure selling model. — Natalie Theodosi

    As Carel gears up for its 70th anniversary, the French footwear label is revisiting its heritage and experimenting with new sustainable materials, such as pineapple-derived leather-analogue Piñatex. Expect new twists on the Caren, a round-toe Mary Jane from the Sixties, revisited with a trapeze block heel for next winter. There were also new twists on its C-shaped Signature sculpture heel; a favorite of Alexa Chung, Maisie Williams and singer Angèle, but also of France’s First Lady Brigitte Macron. — Lily Templeton
