NEW YORK — The Jones Group Inc. has inked a deal with Altair, a division of Marchon Eyewear Inc., to produce Anne Klein eyewear.

The Jones-owned Anne Klein had made ophthalmic eyewear and sunglass collections under an exclusive agreement with Luxottica Group SpA. That agreement is set to expire Dec. 31.

Under the new deal, Anne Klein eyewear will be marketed and sold globally in upscale optical chains, specialty retailers and by eye care professionals beginning next spring.

“We are pleased to enter into this agreement with Altair, a best-in-class partner, for Anne Klein eyewear, as we continue to develop Anne Klein as a global fashion iconic brand,” said Richard Dickson, Jones Group president and chief executive officer of branded business.

Anne Klein will become part of Altair’s stable of eyewear brands, which include Bebe, Tommy Bahama, Joseph Abboud, Revlon and Sigrid Olsen.

“We recognize the Anne Klein brand’s rich heritage in providing women with evolving modern style and look forward to translating those high-quality, timeless designs into compelling eyewear perfectly suited for the Anne Klein woman,” said Altair president Steve Wright.
