Glance Eyewear is the new partner for nonprescription eyewear for the Jones New York brand.

Authentic Brands Group, which owns the Jones New York brand, has signed a multiyear partnership with Glance Eyewear. The agreement provides for a new line of non-opthalmic eyewear that includes sunglasses, reading glasses and eyewear accessories. The line will be available in spring 2017.

Glance is a private owned firm in business since 1976. It manufactures sunglasses and nonprescription reading glasses.

Nick Woodhouse, president and chief marketing officer of ABG, said, “With over 40 years of experience in design, production and retail distribution, Glance is a leader in the eyewear space.”

Joseph Massa, executive vice president, sales at Glance, said, “Jones New York is an iconic lifestyle brand with remarkable consumer appeal and potential growth in the eyewear category.”

ABG acquired the brand in April 2015 from private equity firm Sycamore Partners. Sycamore acquired the brand when it bought Jones Apparel Group in 2014 for $2.2 billion. At the time of the acquisition by ABG, the Jones New York brand had nearly $1 billion in annual retail volume worldwide.

ABG has a long-term partnership deal with Global Brands Group Holding Ltd. for the design and production of certain product categories, such as women’s wear, men’s wear, accessories and footwear. The fall collection will be available later this year at Dillard’s, Bon-Ton, Von Maur, Boscov’s and at the brand’s Web site. The upcoming fall line will be the first distribution with GBG.

The Jones New York brand is available in freestanding and department stores in the U.S., and in key international markets in Canada, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America.

REM eyewear continues to be the brand’s partner for opthalmic eyewear and opthalmic sunglasses for men and women.
