Luxottica Group’s Ray-Ban eyewear label has signed an agreement with Ferrari to sponsor the company’s Formula One car racing in the international championship.

The brand’s logo will make its debut on the Ferrari SF16-H red car this weekend in Silverstone, England.

“We are celebrating today a breakthrough partnership,” said Luxottica executive chairman Leonardo Del Vecchio. “We are honored to become part of the Ferrari family – a brand that perfectly reflects and embodies the same characteristics that give Ray-Ban its icon status: authenticity, cultural relevance and excellence.”

Along with Ray-Ban, Luxottica owns the Oakley, Vogue Eyewear, Persol, Oliver Peoples and Alain Mikli labels, along with manufacturing and distributing the eyewear collections of a range of fashion houses, including Giorgio Armani, Burberry, Bulgari, Chanel, Coach, Dolce&Gabbana, Michael Kors, Prada, Ralph Lauren, Tiffany & Co. and Versace.
