The Atelier division will develop special frames crafted from exclusive materials worked with innovative techniques. Featuring precious details and rich decorations, the products developed by the new division will be available in limited editions. Atelier will also offer a made-to-order service.

Because we have made high-quality product and distribution differentiation the bedrock of our corporate strategy over the past few years, we can now scale that to match precisely also the requirements of the Super Luxury business model,” said Luisa Delgado, Safilo’s chief executive officer. “We are delighted to debut with two exquisite brands — Elie Saab Eyewear Couture of unparalleled sophistication, and our own Oxydo blending trailblazing technology- and art-inspired-beauty. In both, we have brought to life in market disruptive ways our renowned product savoir faire heritage and innovation capabilities.”
Safilo also produces and distributes the eyewear collections of a range of international labels, including Dior, Fendi, Céline, Givenchy, Jimmy Choo, Marc Jacobs, Max Mara and Tommy Hilfiger.
This is the latest development for Safilo in an industry that is rapidly transforming. Last week, eyewear companies Luxottica and Essilor merged to form the EssilorLuxottica $16 billion eyewear colossus, while LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton is about to acquire between 5 percent and 10 percent of Marcolin.
