CUTTING DOWN: The Safilo Group is restructuring its North American co-headquarters. The Italian eyewear firm operates headquarters in Parsippany, N.J., and Denver. It intends to close its Parsippany operations by mid-2016, in favor of a new East Coast headquarters located closer to New York City (where Safilo operates a showroom on Fifth Avenue). Following Parsippany’s closure, all of Safilo’s North American distribution will be moved to its Denver co-headquarters.
The firm says that all distribution center employees in Parsippany are being offered the opportunity to relocate to Denver, “or alternatively to receive transition and outplacement support,” it said in a statement.
Safilo opened its first U.S. headquarters in 1986, and has conducted business out of Parsippany since November 1997.
