Sam Cerro has joined Eyeking as strategic account and business development director.
Cerro, a 20-year veteran, was most recently at Marchon where he oversaw strategic account management, business planning and forecasting. He was also responsible for assisting in the marketing and product development areas for the company’s optical and retail sales divisions.
At Eyeking, Cerro will report to Eric Shaughnessy, senior vice president of sales. Shaughnessy pointed to Cerro’s “notable experience in the eyewear industry, his account relationships, and insight into the optical channel of business [as] an important asset as we continue to expand and grow at Eyeking.”
Prior to joining Marchon, Sam had worked with Eyeking’s founders Shelly Goldman and Craig Fels where he is credited with being a key contributor to the company’s success. Cero said: “I am excited to once again join Eyeking’s team. Eyeking continues to redefine the eyewear industry and explore new avenues of strategic growth and profitability, including design, global marketing, sales and operations.”
Eyeking, based in Melville, N.Y., is a fourth-generation family-owned firm that holds the licenses for Under Armour Eyewear and Hobie Polarized.
