MILAN — Sunglass Hut is coming to Galeries Lafayette and BHV Marais.
Luxottica Group, which controls the eyewear retail chain, and the French department store chain has signed an agreement to open Sunglass Hut units in 57 Galeries Lafayette and BHV Marais venues across France. The first banners are opening in February and the full rollout is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
“We view France as one of the most trendsetting markets for premium and luxury brands,” said Leonardo Del Vecchio, founder and chairman of Luxottica. Bringing Sunglass Hut to the French department stores “will bring a new level of visibility to the premium eyewear category,” he asserted.
Sunglass Hut, which counts more than 3,000 locations around the world, will be the exclusive operator of sunglass corners in Galeries Lafayette and BHV Marais stores.
Luxottica produces its own brands Ray-Ban and Oakley, as well as licensed brands Giorgio Armani, Chanel and Prada, among others.
