HIS EYES ONLY: Tom Ford has taken a cue from his personal collection of eyewear for a new, special lineup of sunglasses and optical frames.The Tom Ford Private Eyewear line features eleven styles with the frames made from buffalo horn and Japanese titanium. The sunglass range — which includes aviator styles — was created with photochromic lenses that adjust to outside lighting while the optical frames are tinted in green, blue or brown.Prices range from $690 for Tom No. 4 sunglasses to $990 for Tom No. 2 sunglasses. The collection will be sold at the designer's stores, select retailers and on tomford.com.“These are the frames that I personally wear, and in some instances originally designed only for myself,” said the designer. "This is truly my own private collection. In most cases, these editions of my favorite frames have been produced in new, elevated materials that are uncommon in most commercially produced frames.”
