Castanea Partners has appointed Javan Bunch chief executive officer of Donald J Pliner, the footwear brand. He succeeds Noel Hord, who plans to assume a non-executive director seat on the company’s board.
Most recently, Bunch was executive vice president of global merchandising and domestic wholesale for footwear, handbags and accessories at Tory Burch LLC. Before that, he was senior vice president of licensed businesses and domestic wholesale at Coach Inc., where he was responsible for merchandising and design of shoes, watches, eyewear and fragrance. He has also held senior management posts at The Camuto Group, Isabella Fiore and Joan and David.
“Javan brings a wealth of strategic and organizational leadership capabilities, having spent many years as an experienced and highly successful merchandiser and brand-builder in the luxury footwear sector,” said Brian Knez, managing partner of Castanea. “We look forward to working closely with Javan as he leads the company through its next stage of development.”
Castanea Partners purchased a majority interest in Donald J Pliner in 2011. Headquartered in New York, Donald J Pliner founded the company, which manufactures women’s and men’s dress and casual footwear, in 1989.
