FN Platform, the footwear show run by UBM Fashion Group, is coming to New York City.
The organizer of trade shows including MAGIC, Project, Coterie and Stitch, will hold its first East Coast edition in February. The show, which has been in existence since 2010, currently runs twice a year in Las Vegas. The New York show will also be held biannually and will take place during Coterie NYC at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. It will be held at the same time as Stitch, Moda, Edit and Accessories the Show, events that UBM recently acquired as part of its purchase of Business Journal Inc. in April.
The addition of FN Platform will offer a “head-to-toe buying experience” for the women’s market, UBM said, and will also encourage new brands and attendance from the European market.
As a result of the FN Platform addition, Sole Commerce, the footwear and handbags component of Coterie, will now shift its focus to luxury brands and sit alongside accessories at the center of the Coterie show floor.
“Each year, the show has continued to thrive and these additions will bring continued freshness and opportunity for both sides of the aisle,” said Leslie Gallin, UBM Fashion Group president of footwear. “Footwear is a critical portion in the fashion landscape. The East Coast launch will offer a one-stop shopping experience while creating welcoming interest for new brands and retailers from all over the world.”
In Las Vegas, FN Platform now spans over 500,000 square feet. When it launched six years ago, it was only 40,000 square feet.
UBM Americas is part of UBM plc, an events and marketing services company that is the largest trade show operator in the U.S.
