LONDON — Harrys of London, the men’s luxury footwear label, has named Steven Newey chief executive officer, effective immediately, the firm said Tuesday.

Newey joins the company from Mulberry, where he was global group commercial director. Prior to that, he served as general manager EMEA for Berluti and area manager — U.K., France, Germany and Austria — for Loro Piana.

Marty Wikstrom, who served as interim ceo of Harrys of London during the ceo search process, will remain “actively involved” in the company as a board member and major shareholder, the statement read.

Newey described Harrys as being at a “time of expansion and global growth.” “The next six months promise to be exciting and challenging as we take Harrys of London to new territories and new audiences,” he said.

In October, Palladin Consumer Retail Partners took a majority investment in Harrys of London for an undisclosed amount. At the time, Palladin said it planned to open stand-alone stores for the label in the U.S., expand wholesale doors and eventually launch a women’s footwear line.
