Hunter Boot Ltd. has named Benedict Smith chief financial officer, effective Monday. Smith joins the company from GAME Digital, where he also served as cfo. Prior to that, he worked as group cfo of Harrods for six years.
“Benedict’s appointment comes at a key time for Hunter, as we move into our next phase of growth,” said James Seuss, chief executive officer. “His experience will serve us well, including his time at Harrods, as we continue to realize our ambition for the brand and grow both our retail and wholesale businesses, on a global level.”
The company, known for its signature rain boots, has been making a fashion play as of late. For fall 2014, the Hunter Original brand made its London Fashion Week debut with a full runway show. In February, Hunter Original held its third runway show with a collection inspired by the Scottish Highlands, which attracted a front row crowd that included Salma Hayek, Alexa Chung and Luke Evans, as well as Stella McCartney, who is married to Alasdhair Willis, the brand’s creative director.
