Jockey is entering the footwear category.

The American innerwear brand is working with The Eastman Group to design, manufacture and market a line of men’s and women’s casual footwear — a new licensed category for Jockey.

The men’s and women’s line will include slippers, flip-flops and athleisure styles, the companies said this morning. The footwear will feature moisture-wicking and temperature-regulating fabrics with antimicrobial qualities. The Eastman Group, which was founded in 1986, is known for its technical fabrics and innovative construction.

This partnership comes after a long search for the right licensing partner, according to Milou Gwyn, vice president of licensing at Jockey.

“We have found an ideal match with the Eastman Group, which has extensive knowledge of the footwear industry to pair with Jockey’s expertise in textile technology and comfort features,” said Gwyn. “This seamless integration of quality, cross-functional and technology-driven footwear falls perfectly in line with Jockey’s commitment to deliver innovative products.”

The collection will soft-launch for spring/summer 2016 and will fully launch in fall/winter 2016.
