John Lobb, the British cobbler owned by Hermès, is on the move, and to underline that fact, the brand kicked off its spring presentation with a hand-drawn animation that featured a dapper gent flitting from Portobello to Shoreditch. The animation was set to music by the Northampton band the Temples, a nod to the location of the Lobb rtw shoe factory.
Among the highlights of the collection were punched wingtip loafers and brogues, and a driving shoe in butter soft gray suede. Bespoke footwear – monk straps, brogues and boots – came in a range of different leathers and color ways, such as suede and leather in a rich plum hue.
Bespoke is a big trend,” said Lobb’s chief executive Renaud Paul-Dauphin. “Everyone wants to be different.”
