Dreamy, cloudlike beds of pink roses, hydrangeas and orchids set the scene for Roger Vivier’s delicate spring Rendez-Vous collection, which creative director Bruno Frisoni said was loosely inspired by the luminescent, fragile aura of Marilyn Monroe. The tribute was most obvious in a fun pink resin clutch smacked with lipstick lips, “as if kissed by Marilyn,” while a lace theme included a black-and-nude tulle heel and a delightful leather style embossed with an intricate baroque motif. As for the hand-painted sky-blue pumps, they were inspired by Frisoni’s photo of a Tangier sunset. The house’s iconic Prism line was also a major motif, best explored via a clutch decorated with geometric panels of stingray, crocodile, python and satin in different shades of black. The ever-playful Frisoni likened the bag’s pattern to an ornate tortoise shell.
