HITTING THE BEACH: Anya Hindmarch brought its A game for Art Basel Miami Beach. The British accessories brand partnered with the Alchemist lifestyle store in South Beach for its first Miami pop-up through December. Bags, small leather goods and leather stickers from the fall and resort collections fill windows facing Lincoln Road.
“Miami is incredibly important to us, and it’s an enormous privilege to be represented by stores we have long admired,” said Hindmarch.
Alchemist cofounder Roma Cohen, a frequent guest at Hindmarch’s quirky dinner parties during London Fashion Week, said response has come from far and wide, from French women picking up a sticker-covered PVC beach tote for their St. Barth’s getaway to fashion-obsessed South Koreans wanting the latest styles like a gray shearling backpack with monster eyes and an aubergine cross-body bag with a perforated smiley face.
“Anya’s done a great job in finding a humorous, happy niche,” he said of his clientele’s dramatic shift toward brands with strong identities and collectibles. “They love her calfskin stickers so much they even put them on their Birkin bags.”
