BEIJING–Fine leather goods maker Mark Cross is now available online in China through an exclusive partnership with Secoo, further building out the brand’s channels in the country which include wholesale through Lane Crawford and Galeries Lafayette.
“We are thrilled to announce our online launch in China in partnership with Secoo, Asia’s largest premium lifestyle platform,” said Neal J. Fox, president and chief executive officer of Mark Cross. “Asia is one of our most important markets and we are constantly looking at how to expand our presence in the region.”
Founded in 1845, Mark Cross began as a saddlery in Boston and is available in over 100 stores internationally.
Secoo, which positions itself as a premium lifestyle platform that can offer everything from a Lamborghini to European vacations, and luxury fashion, has been in hot pursuit of international brands to join its platform.
This year, it hired Federica Marchionni to spearhead its international expansion, signed a partnership with growing fashion conglomerate Shandong Ruyi, and inked a deal with L Catterton Asia and JD.com. Alibaba’s luxury pavilion too has also been courting brands aggressively.
The company, which celebrated the one year anniversary of its public listing on Sep. 25, also announced recently that its new campaign will be shot by influential photographer Chen Man.
According to its 2017 annual report, Secoo’s annual gross merchandise value reached to $808.8 million via 1.44 million orders, a growth of 51.6 percent and 50.7 percent respectively.
