MILAN — Salvatore Ferragamo is launching today a digital project focused on its new Studio Bag, the brand’s first signature bag style designed by Paul Andrew, creative director of the women’s collections.
The bag, which is debuting with the label’s pre-fall 2018 collection, is a graphic, rectangular versatile style embellished with Salvatore Ferragamo’s iconic Gancini metallic closure.
Available in four sizes, the Studio Bag celebrates the company’s namesake founder’s first studio, the Hollywood Boot Shop, which opened in Los Angeles in 1923.
In keeping with the artistic approach traditionally linked with the brand and its founder, the fashion house tapped Serbian artist Ana Kras to be the protagonist of the #FerragamoStudioBags content series, which will be progressively shared on the Salvatore Ferragamo social media accounts.
In particular, Kras, who successfully works in several fields, including furniture, object design, interior architecture, painting, sculpture, photography and fashion, opened the doors of her New York studio where she was photographed with the Studio Bag.
In addition, to mark the 95th anniversary of the opening of the Hollywood Boot Shop, Ferragamo realized two exclusive versions of the Studio Bag. One developed in metallic silver and another with a color-blocked pattern, the two unique styles are part of a limited-edition capsule of 95 pieces to be available at the brand’s flagships in the world starting today.
