MILAN — Serapian, the high-end accessories brand and leather goods manufacturer founded in Milan in 1928, has teamed with luxury retailer Antonia on an exclusive summer bag capsule collection.
The capsule will be part of an installation in the windows of Antonia’s Milan store starting Thursday.
The niche brand, which in 2017 passed under the control of Compagnie Financière Richemont, created 20 limited-edition pieces of its signature Villa Bag, which is inspired by an archival design conceived in 1960 by the company’s founder, Stefano Serapian.
For Antonia, the bag style, available in a regular and mini size, was handcrafted in raffia, showing 10 different wefts, and lined with yellow suede. The chic capsule is also defined by exclusive straps, which feature the geometric two-tone Mosaico hand-braided motif invented by Serapian.
“We are glad of this collaboration with Antonia, which celebrates the true idea of rarity as these 20 bags are all unique and of Italian craftsmanship since they were hand-crafted in our atelier,” said Serapian chief executive officer Giacomo Cortesi. “The Antonia boutique is an important window on today’s ‘creative Milan,’ and therefore a perfect place for us to express our Milanese identity.”
The capsule retails for between 1,880 euros for the mini style and 2,280 euros for the Villa regular version.
Serapian operates an atelier in Milan and a factory in Varese. It also manages a retail network with stores in Milan and Rome.
