Nautica has tapped New Era Cap Co. to create a new limited-edition hat collection whose designs are based on the brand’s vintage jackets. The collection will launch on Aug. 24.
The New Era x Nautica caps feature elements inspired by Nautica’s Hydro Race, Scuba, and Color Block jackets including patches, labels, pockets and hardware. The caps will retail from $40 to $75 and will be available exclusively on either the Nautica, New Era or Jimmy Jazz Web sites.
“Our teams selected unique relics from our Nautica archive and New Era created fresh, collectible pieces,” said Steve McSween, vice president of global design for Nautica.
“We have united the vintage history of Nautica with the contemporary cultural style of New Era Cap,” added Christina McAdam, lifestyle product director for New Era.
VF Corp. inked a deal in March to sell the Nautica brand to Authentic Brands Group for an undisclosed sum, which was ABG’s largest acquisition to date.
