Sprayground, a backpack brand that has established a cult following, will open its first pop-up shop in SoHo later this month.

The shop, locate at 39 Spring Street, will be open from Aug. 20-25 and is dubbed Six Days of Mayhem. In addition to offering pieces from the company’s bag line, the shop will also host several activations over the course of its stay.

On the first day, there will be a custom-wrapped Sprayground x Bob’s Burgers truck that will sell a themed “Burger of the Day” to consumers. The second day will feature free tattoos by VH1’s “Black Ink Crew’s” O S–t!, a bag customization area, and live body painting by “Skin Wars” artist Athena Zhe.

Day Three will feature NBA player guests, dunk contests and a debut of the exclusive Sprayground x NBA capsule collection. Day Four will consist of a meet-and-greet with social media influencers Dan Rue and Nick ‘n’ Pattiwhack for the launch of their limited-edition collaboration.

Day Five will focus on female-oriented product, and day six will be focused around a special secret artist performance.

Sprayground’s founder and creative director, David Ben-David, said he decided to do an activation pop-up “because I was so bored every time I walked into any retail store. I wanted to create an experience for the consumer and fan. This experience involves a museum-type vibe, like the MoMA meets Disney World.”

In addition to the brand’s back-to-school line, the shop will also sell 150 one-off bags designed especially for the space.
