EASTWARD BOUND: Hot on the heels of the opening of her first store this month at 55 Rue des Saints Pères in Paris’ Saint Germain neighborhood, jewelry designer Aurélie Bidermann is already hatching plans for another boutique, across the Atlantic this time. “I’ve almost chosen the location,” Bidermann confided. “I’m hesitating between the West Village, which is very charming, and SoHo, more crowded and touristy.”
Wherever she chooses, Bidermann said the address would have the same esthetic as the 320-square-foot Paris unit — designed to look like the living room of a luxury villa of the Forties or Fifties along the Amalfi Coast, and should open sometime in 2013.
On a sunny September afternoon, her intimate Paris store was bathed in light, highlighting details like a bright yellow-and-white printed sofa and turquoise-colored coffee table books, standing out in the otherwise white backdrop.
